In collaboration with the Vitamin Angels Foundation as the primary donor and Culion Local Government Units (LGUs) as distributors, CFI executed this vital community initiative across local barangays to ensure essential health services and interventions to children under the age of five, particularly those in hard-to-reach communities.

This project was specifically designed to combat vitamin A deficiency, a major public health concern in many developing countries, including the Philippines, which can lead to severe health problems such as impaired vision, increased vulnerability to infections, and blindness in severe cases.

To mitigate the risks, the vitamin A supplementation program targeted high-risk populations, especially children under five. The program sought to prevent the morbidity and mortality associated with vitamin A deficiency-related diseases such as measles and diarrhea, thereby enhancing the overall health and well-being of young children in these communities.
