𝐁𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐇𝐀𝐍: 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐅𝐈-𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞’𝐬 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
To sustain the GForest Project initiatives, Culion Foundation, Inc. (CFI) is establishing and strengthening People’s Organizations (POs) for community-based projects.
In collaboration with the Baldat Fishermen and Farmers Association (BAFFA), CFI formed a labor group in Sitio Canimango, known as the Canimango Association of Fisherfolk and Farmers last June 12, 2024. The group organized a Bayanihan Drive to renovate the unused Community Fish Landing Center, transforming it into a PO office.
Additionally, CFI has received authorization from both the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) to use the building. Representatives from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) have visited the site and coordinated with the BLGU, indicating that they will officially hand over the building once the PO secures its accreditation.
