Championing Conservation: Insights from the Month of the Ocean in Puerto Princesa City
CFI Program Officer for Environment, Mr. John Banadera, joined in The Convergence of Conservation Champion: I love the Ocean at A&A Plaza Hotel, Puerto Princesa City.
The CFI participated in the Month of the Ocean as support to conservation effort of the USAID in West Philippines Sea. Under SEAPHERD project implemented by the Gerry Roxas Foundation (GRF) and the Path Foundation Philippines Inc. (PFPI), this activity aimed to Inspire, empower, and elevate capacities of champions through sharing of best practices and achievement and strengthen alliance among peer educators in West Philippines Sea.
Two delegates from Culion was awarded as Champion of Change for their contribution in Conservation Advocacy Campaign in Calamianes, namely, Mr. John Bañadera and Ms. Ma. Lourdes Abina from Barangay Luac, Culion, who was trained by the CFI in mangrove and environmental conservation.
