TB ACF in Isla Verde, Batangas
True to the goal of preventing and controlling communicable diseases and helping families access means and opportunities to improve their health, Culion Foundation Inc., in partnership with Batangas City Health Office conducted the Tuberculosis Active Case Finding in Isla Verde, Batangas City, Batangas last April 24-25, 2024.
A total of 329 high-risk individuals from Barangay San Agustin Kanluran and Barangay San Andres were screened using a portable chest X-ray machine. Aside from this, free medical consultation and free medicines were provided by the Batangas City Health Office in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Isla Verde.
Isla Verde is home to about 5,000 people from six barangays, with fishing, livestock production, and tourism as the main sources of income. The Verde Island Passage is considered a marine biodiversity hotspot.
