Siete Pecados, a marine protected area (MPA) co-managed by the environmental team of Culion Foundation, Inc., together with the community of Barangay Tagumpay in the Municipality of Coron, has been chosen as one of the 2024 Blue Park Award Nominees.
The Blue Park Awards recognize exceptional marine protected areas (MPAs) dedicated to preserving ocean life. Out of four nominees worldwide, Siete Pecados Marine Park in Palawan, Philippines, nestled within the biodiverse Coral Triangle, proudly stands among them. This achievement highlights the importance of Siete Pecados as an MPA that safeguards the health of marine habitats and boosts local livelihoods.
