Following the establishment of the Binudac Fisherfolk Association (BinFA) on August 17, 2023, Culion Foundation, Inc. (CFI) and the LGU of Culion conducted Mentoring and Strengthening workshops to institutionalize the participation of the fishermen in planning and implementation of the initiatives for the protection, management and development of coastal and fisheries resources.
Through this, fisherfolks and other stakeholders were capacitated to understand the importance of negotiation and policy advocacy, and maximize negotiations as a means to come up with a consensus among community members.
