News Alert: Rare Palawan Pangolin Rescued by CFI Staff in Culion, Palawan

Mr. John Banadera, CFI Project Officer under the Environmental Program, successfully rescued an endangered Palawan Pangolin, also known as “Balintong”. The rare species was discovered by Mr. Banadera during mangrove monitoring in Sitio Pinutukan-Matalbong, Brgy. Malaking Patag, Culion, Palawan.
Following its rescue, the precious pangolin, scientifically known as Manis culionensis, was safely handed over by CFI to the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) for protection against potential threats and for return to its natural habitats.
This rescue underscores the importance of conservation efforts in safeguarding endangered species like the Palawan Pangolin.
