Strengthening Tuberculosis Care: Active Case Finding in Quezon Province

TB Active Case Finding in Quezon Province

Tuberculosis Active Case Finding (ACF) was successfully conducted in San Narciso and Guinayangan, Quezon Province last May 7-8, 2024.

The CFI Team was able to provide health services to 173 individuals from the vulnerable group of Barangay Maligaya, San Narciso in the Bondoc Peninsula of Quezon whereas 158 persons were screened from Capuluan Central, Guinayangan, Quezon. TB screening, free chest x-rays, onsite sputum collection and light snacks were provided to participants from both barangays under the 3rd class municipalities of Quezon. The activity is in partnership with the Provincial Health Office and Rural Health Units of Quezon Province.

The ACF aims to identify and screen individuals who are at high risk of TB and provide tuberculosis information and education in the community to eradicate the infectious disease. This project is supported by the Advancing Client-Centered Care and Expanding Sustainable Services (ACCESS-TB) Project.
