Active Case Finding

Tuberculosis Active case-finding (ACF) aims to deliver systematic screening by providing free x-rays and sputum tests to targeted population which are in a higher risk of developing TB. Specifically, the target population includes elderly, immunocompromised population, and members of the rural and urban poor in the National Capital Region (NCR), CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and the Bicol Region. Its ultimate goal is to identify individuals with TB to prompt initiation of treatment and provide awareness, control, and prevention activities to the community. Furthermore, the ACF aims to proactively identify individuals who may not seek healthcare on their own. This helps in reducing the burden of TB and achieving the targets set by the End TB Strategy.

The project is commissioned by the Philippine Business for Social Progress as part of the Advancing Client-centered Care and Expanding Sustainable Services for TB (ACCESS TB) initiative, which is funded by The Global Fund to combat AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.
