Vitamin Supplementation

Since 2015, CFI has been a partner organization of the Vitamin Angels Foundation, a US-based non-profit organization, in the distribution of vitamins to undernourished children and pregnant and lactating mothers. This partnership aims to fill gaps in supply or coverage among eligible beneficiaries. This project is undertaken in collaboration with the Municipal Health and Nutrition Offices of Culion and Coron. Aside from Vitamin A, Vitamin Angels also provides albendazole and multivitamins. This initiative is part of CFI’s vitamin supplementation program that adheres to the directive of the Department of Health (DOH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) on the provision of Vitamin A supplements for children 6-59 months old in areas where Vitamin A deficiency (VAD) is a severe public health problem.
